As Saskatoon starts to explore the cost-benefits of a downtown entertainment district, anchored by SaskTel Centre and TCU Place, join us to hear from an expert who has researched and measured the real economic impact of event facilities for over 30 years:
 

• How facilities enable downtown revitalization efforts
• ​Implications and opportunities for cities and adjacent communities
• How developments can help attract and retain human capital for economic development 
• The winning connection between sports and cultural facilities 

 

 

Dr. Mark Rosentraub has been studying and writing about the economics of sports teams, events, and facilities and the linkage between sports, cultural centers, and urban revitalization and economic development for more than 30 years. He has written or co-authored five different books and more than 100 academic articles and book chapters on different aspects of sports, tourism, amenities, and economic development.
